YUVA is an initiative of Chavara Youth, a catholic organisation under the aegis of the Jayantian Catholic Association of Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru, united in the youthfulness of Christ in prayer and action. YUVA stands for Youth United for Visionary Actions. It is a dynamic venture inspired by the visionary legacy of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara for the Catholic Youth to envision and embrace the mission of the Catholic Church through sharing the gospel and celebrating the Word of God. YUVA is a Global Fest of literary and cultural competitions, organised to bring together Catholic Youth around the world. It aims to provide a platform for young minds to showcase their talents and promote the spirit of unity and creativity among the CatholicYouth.

General Guidelines

  • The Theme for this year is - “YOUTH AND THE CHURCH”
  • The participant must be a member of a youth organization of a parish or of an educational institution.
  • The program will consist of individual and group events. The participant can submit entries in the following languages: English/ Hindi/ Kannada/ Malayalam/ Tamil.
  • There is no restriction on the number of entries for Individual events from a parish/ organization.
  • Registration and submission will happen through Google Forms.
  • There will be two rounds for each event. Preliminary rounds will be conducted online while the final rounds will be conducted in campus, offline mode.
  • For preliminary rounds, all entries submitted by the participant must be recorded.
  • Plagiarism in literary events is not encouraged. If submissions are plagiarized, the participant will be disqualified.
  • Entries of the finalists will be uploaded on the official Instagram [@chavara_youth] and the official website [https://chavarayouth.com/] of the organization.
  • Please adhere to the deadline specified in the guidelines of each event. Late submissions are not encouraged and will not be accepted.
  • Participants must name their submission as: [Chest Number_Event Name] E.g. [EE01_Elocution]
  • Participants will have to pay a nominal registration fee for both individual and group events.
  • Participants have the option to register as a team consisting of its parish/Organization members. They will have to pay a fixed amount of Rs. 1500/-.
  • The food and accommodation for the participants who have qualified for the finals will be taken care of by the organizers. The participants must cover only the transport expenses.
  • Winners will be awarded cash prizes worth INR 2,00,000/- and all participants will receive e-certificates.
  • All details regarding the fest will be available on the official Instagram page [@chavara_youth] and the official website.
  • NOTE: Both prelims and finals for international participants will be held online.

Registration Details

  • Registration commences on: January 10, 2024
  • Registration ends on: February 25, 2024
  • The submission date for the preliminary rounds is from January 15, 2024, to February 29, 2024.
  • The results for the preliminary rounds will be announced on March 20, 2024.
  • The final rounds and valedictory ceremony will be held on April 14, 2024 (Venue: Kristu Jayanti College, Central Campus, Bengaluru)
